The first monthly meeting of 2022 will be held on Thursday January 27 at 7pm and will again be a Zoom meeting. We are continuing on Zoom due to the rise in covid rates through December into January. This also marks the first meeting after the start of the petition period for the 2022 elections.
There have been some key announcements that affect Warren Township. State Senator Melinda Bush (D-District 31), who has wonderfully served a large part of Warren Township, announced she is retiring at the end of her current term. Two candidates have announced that they are running for that State Senate position, State Rep Sam Yingling who is the current State Rep for District 62, and former State Rep Mary Edly Allen. Since Rep Yingling is not running for his current seat, there are also several candidates who have announced they are running for his State Rep seat. Laura Dias, who is a Grayslake Village Trustee, and Tom Maillard, who is the 10th Congressional District Central Committeeman. Both candidates for District 62 will be guest speakers at our January 27 meeting.
The meeting agenda will also include discussion of precinct maps, petition drives and petitions available for circulation, results from the December 5 Holiday Fundraiser and old/new business. If you have a topic to add to the agenda or would like to be a speaker, please let me know by January 24. The zoom link will be sent with the October minutes and November agenda closer to the meeting date.
